Product Name :
Sphingosine 1 Phosphate 4 Receptor (CT) (EDG6)

Description :
| Product Type Blocking Peptide | Units 50 µg | Species Reactivity Human | Application Functional Inhibition

Background :

Source :
EDG6 (S1P4) belongs to a family of G-protein coupled receptors whose ligands are lysophospholipids. The ligand for EDG6 (S1P4) is sphingosine-1-phosphate. There are 8 known members of the EDG receptor family and they are implicated in mediating growth related effects such as induction of cellular proliferation, alterations in differentiation and survival and suppression of apoptosis. They also evoke cellular effector functions that are dependent on cytoskeletal responses such as contraction, secretion, adhesion and chemotaxis. EDG receptors are developmentally regulated and differ in tissue distribution. They couple to multiple types of G proteins to signal through ras and MAP kinase, rho, phospholipase C and several protein tyrosine kinases. EDG6 (S1P4) is expressed in lymphoid and hematopoietic tissue and in the lungs. Synonyms: Blocking peptide for use in Western blotting with Anti-EDG6 (S1P4) (CT) (Cat. No. X1182P) <

Antibodies are immunoglobulins secreted by effector lymphoid B cells into the bloodstream. Antibodies consist of two light peptide chains and two heavy peptide chains that are linked to each other by disulfide bonds to form a “Y” shaped structure. Both tips of the “Y” structure contain binding sites for a specific antigen. Antibodies are commonly used in medical research, pharmacological research, laboratory research, and health and epidemiological research. They play an important role in hot research areas such as targeted drug development, in vitro diagnostic assays, characterization of signaling pathways, detection of protein expression levels, and identification of candidate biomarkers.
