Product Name :
Mouse anti Human Estrogen Receptor

Description :
| Clone AER314 | Isotype IgG1 | Product Type Monoclonal Antibody | Units 100 µg | Host Mouse | Species Reactivity Human Mouse | Application ELISA Immunohistochemistry (frozen & paraffin) Immunoprecipitation Western Blotting

Background :
Immunogen: Hybridoma produced by the fusion of splenocytes from mice immunized with purified estrogen receptors from calf uterus tumor and mouse myeloma cells.

Source :
The human estrogen receptor has a molecular weight of 67 kDa and consists of 6 functional domains (domains A-F). Functional mapping of the estrogen receptor has determined a transcriptional promoting activity in the A/B domain. The hormone-binding domain (E domain) is located towards the carboxy terminal, whereas the DNA-binding domain (C domain) is found in the central portion of the molecule. It has been speculated that the presence in breast cancer cells of truncated forms of the estrogen receptor lacking the hormone-binding domain might promote the uncontrolled growth of the tumor. <

Antibodies are immunoglobulins secreted by effector lymphoid B cells into the bloodstream. Antibodies consist of two light peptide chains and two heavy peptide chains that are linked to each other by disulfide bonds to form a “Y” shaped structure. Both tips of the “Y” structure contain binding sites for a specific antigen. Antibodies are commonly used in medical research, pharmacological research, laboratory research, and health and epidemiological research. They play an important role in hot research areas such as targeted drug development, in vitro diagnostic assays, characterization of signaling pathways, detection of protein expression levels, and identification of candidate biomarkers.
