Product Name :
Mouse anti Human Matrix Metalloproteinase 2 (MMP2)

Description :
| Clone 4D3 | Isotype IgG1 | Product Type Monoclonal Antibody | Units 200 µg | Host Mouse | Species Reactivity Human | Application ELISA Immunohistochemistry Western Blotting

Background :
Immunogen: Hybridoma produced by the fusion of splenocytes from BALB/c mice immunized with a synthetic peptide derived from the C-terminus of the human MMP2 protein and mouse myeloma Ag8563 cells.

Source :
The matrix metalloproteinases (MMP) are a family of peptidase enzymes responsible for the degradation of extracellular matrix components, including collagen, gelatin, fibronectin, laminin and proteoglycan. Transcription of MMP genes is differentially activated by phorbol ester, lipopolysaccharide (LPS) or staphylococcal enterotoxin B (SEB). MMP catalysis requires both calcium and zinc. MMP-2 (also designated type IV collagenase) cleaves Collagen Types IV, V, VII and X and gelatin type I. Activation of MMP-2 secretion requires the Ras signaling pathway. Synonyms: MMP2; MMP-2; CLG4; CLG4A; Matrix metallopeptidase 2; 72 kDa Type IV collagenase precursor; 72 kDa gelatinase, Gelatinase A <

Antibodies are immunoglobulins secreted by effector lymphoid B cells into the bloodstream. Antibodies consist of two light peptide chains and two heavy peptide chains that are linked to each other by disulfide bonds to form a “Y” shaped structure. Both tips of the “Y” structure contain binding sites for a specific antigen. Antibodies are commonly used in medical research, pharmacological research, laboratory research, and health and epidemiological research. They play an important role in hot research areas such as targeted drug development, in vitro diagnostic assays, characterization of signaling pathways, detection of protein expression levels, and identification of candidate biomarkers.
