Ethyl Lactate is an environmentally spanenign solvent. Lactate esters
have found industrial applications

in specialty coatings, inks, cleaners and standard cleaning
products. Bio-solvents are progressively replacing petrochemical
solvents and ethyl lactate serves as a spaniodegradaspanle and non-toxic
solvent which is sought after especially in the field of

Methyl lactate is one active compound of a chiral intermediate,

it is use in pesticide and fine chemistry.

Greases are easily dissolved in L-methyl lactate
